“Come As You Are” – The Bold Grace of Jesus
Matthew 9:10–13
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick… For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
— Matthew 9:12–13 (NIV)
You Don’t Have to Have It All Together
Let’s be honest—life gets messy. We stumble, we fall short, we carry regrets. But here’s the good news: Jesus isn’t looking for perfect people. He’s looking for honest ones. People who are tired of pretending and ready for something real.
When Jesus sat down with tax collectors and “sinners,” He wasn’t lowering His standards—He was revealing His heart. A heart that reaches for the rejected, lifts up the broken, and says,
“You still belong. You still matter. You’re still loved.”
Jesus Sees the Treasure in the Trashed
The religious leaders couldn’t understand it. “Why would He eat with those people?” they asked.
But Jesus never saw people as labels—He saw souls.
He didn’t see just a tax collector in Matthew. He saw a world-changer.
He didn’t see sinners at the table. He saw sons and daughters waiting to be restored.
And the same is true for you.
Your past doesn’t disqualify you—God can use it to prepare you.
This Is Not the End of Your Story
Jesus came for those who feel too far gone. He came for those who don’t fit the mold. If that’s you today—good. You’re exactly who He’s after.
So stop waiting until you’ve “cleaned up your act.” Stop believing the lie that you’re not worthy of grace.
Jesus didn’t come for the flawless—He came for the willing.
You don’t have to be fixed to follow Jesus—you just have to follow.
“I Desire Mercy, Not Sacrifice”
God is not impressed by appearances or religious performance. He’s moved by mercy.
He wants your heart more than your perfection.
He wants your love more than your rituals.
And He wants you to extend that same mercy to others.
Let this be your challenge:
✅ Invite the outcast.
✅ Love the difficult.
✅ Sit with the broken.
✅ See people through the eyes of grace.
Your Table Is Waiting
Jesus is still setting tables.
And you have a seat.
Not because you earned it.
But because He chose you.
So come as you are.
Let go of shame.
Pick up your calling.
And walk boldly in the grace that still changes lives today.
Today’s Declaration:
I am not disqualified. I am called.
I am not forgotten. I am chosen.
I am not broken beyond repair.
I am being rebuilt by grace.
